Speaking of horsepower, did you get your spark plugs taken care of?

they did this at my high school 3 years ago. brought in what was left of an accent after a drunk driver crash. just left a flat bed right in front of the school and a brief tribute to the young girl who lost her life.

Not yet, I'm waiting for delivery of the 14mm socket and the new spark plugs. Ordered them off Amazon.
I'll be sure to do a post about it when I do though.
I need to find the following:
Front turn signals, replacement headlight lenses, thermostat, oil + filter + accessories, air intake 90* piping, air filters and I need to figure out why my third brake light doesn't work. Then I need to get the wheels re-finished because a couple have curb rash.
And there's a missing screw from the soft top that I need to find a replacement for. The drivers side is there, the passenger side screw is missing.
It'll be a journey. I also need to decide where I want to break 100k miles. I'm thinking at Caffeine and Carburetors in Connecticut. I'm at 99,640 miles right now, I need to figure out how many miles I'll need to budget to make that work out. Then just 55k more until I can get one of those 250km badges.

Yeah, they do it around me, and I see all the cars pretty often. Oddly enough, not all the cars around me are actually from accidents. Some of them are just practice cars from the fire department training for extrications.

I saw one of those at an event I was at. The thing literally looked like it had been through the crusher.

That's a nice list, nothing crazy. Most of that stuff (if not all) should be available from Mercedes if you can't find used or aftermarket options. But you're missing one crucial thing.... Equal length headers to "zondafy" it. There have been a couple posts about that on here, sounds awesome.

I've tossed the idea around a bit, but to be perfectly honest, I want to keep the car true to it's stock form. I'm not going to be all "numbers matching" crazy about it, but I don't really have much interest in modifying it. If anything, maybe I'll put an exhaust dump valve somewhere before the resonators, but at the same time, I'd rather source a second exhaust kit for the car to modify than the original.
I've seen the videos of what the cars sound like, but I dunno, just not for me, at least on this car. The Magnum will get the exhaust kit.

I would treat it the same way honestly. I like a modified (tastefully) car as much as the next jalop but modifying Mercedes usually just takes away all the class.

I agree. If it were a 190E Cosworth, that would be a different story. If it were a Renntech car, also a different story. But being what it is, specifically a 1997 car, an SL600 Sport, sent over to AMG for extra work, and so on.
I really need my boss to dig around for the paperwork that goes with the car, because somewhere he should have the original paperwork from when the car was brand new, including the letter from AMG.
The (long) story (short) about how my boss got the car is that when he was in real estate, there was a divorce case where the wife got the house and the car, and quickly listed the house for sale. My boss saw the car in the garage with a for sale sign on the seat and left his number on it. She called him a few days later, and they settled on a price, and he bought the car. The husband had the hard top at his other house, so that had to be worked out (which I'm sure was awkward), but he did get it. Supposedly the ex-husband wasn't really all that angry about it, just defeated. From what my boss told me, the ex-husband said that he couldn't do anything with the hard top, so if my boss bought the car, he can come get it. The car was originally listed as a collector vehicle and had about 12k miles on it. My boss took it off and put it on regular insurance and drove the hell out of it.(why it has 99xxx miles on it now).
But I still really want to find the paperwork and other stuff that originally came with the car to know for sure.
